About the 4th Annual Local Food Project Conference:
Feeding off of last year’s conference,
Half-Pint & Essex: A Tale of Two Farms, the 2010 LFP conference will feature two innovative farms that have mastered cultivation & cropping systems to enhance productivity, viability & sustainability. Eric & Anne Nordell of Beech Grove Farm in Trout Run, PA, have developed a bio-extensive approach to market farming using draft horse power on seven acres. Mary-Howell & Klaas Martens have created a 1,400 acre certified organic grain operation in Penn Yan, NY, and direct market organic feeds to 300 farms in NY State. Both the Nordells & Martens have been feature presenters at sustainable agriculture conferences throughout the United States.
On Wednesday, January 13, 2010, both the Nordells and Martens will join together at Airlie Center for a unique seminar experience and over six quality hours of intensive presentations on innovative & ecological farm production in the 21st century.
