ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATION

Environmental Lodging
Since 2001 Airlie has been a participant in the Department of Environmental Quality's Environmental Lodging Program, www.deq.state.va.us/lodging/lodging, a state-wide initiative that encourages hotels and resort facilities to incorporate pollution prevention measures into their daily operations.

Virginia Environmental Excellence Program (VEEP)
Airlie holds both levels of environmental certification offered by the Department of Environmental Quality's VEEP program www.deq.state.va.us/veep/about.html.

"Environmental Enterprise" or E2 certification is awarded to facilities which are interested in beginning or are in the early stages of implementing an environmental management system emphasizing pollution prevention.

"Exemplary Environmental Enterprise" or E3 certification is awarded to facilities with both a fully-implemented environmental management system and pollution prevention program as well as demonstrated performance.

Green Seal
Green Seal, www.greenseal.org, is a private, non profit organization that certifies green products and businesses. Airlie was awarded this certification in 2004.

Airlie President, Kimberly Head and General Manager, Kevin Carter accept E3 certification at the February 2004 Greening the Hospitality Industry Conference.
